About the Workshop

This workshop aims to provide researchers with the understanding, skills, and knowledge to conduct research which is inclusive and equitable. The workshop will therefore be presented in a manner which encourages both reflection and the presentation of teaching materials in a manner that is accessible and clear. Participants working on this workshop should participate each session and engage seriously in activities in the order presented. In this way, skills, knowledge and understanding introduced in the earlier sessions will be built upon as participants’ progress through the workshop. It is therefore advisable not to miss any single session. The workshop is not intended to be a complete guide to conducting research. The purpose of the workshop is to support participants in the development of research competencies which will enable them to conduct independent small-scale research studies using appropriate methodologies and tools of analysis within an ethical framework.
